Why Easmer EA100 Series keep showing up in coatings, inks and adhesives?
Bisphenol A (BPA) epoxy acrylates are a class of difunctional oligomers made by acrylating bisphenol-A-based epoxy resins. They combine the mechanical and chemical robustness of epoxy chemistry with the extremely fast, solvent-free crosslinking offered by acrylate photopolymerization. That combination makes them one of the most widely used resin backbones in energy-curing (UV/LED and electron-beam, EB) formulations for coatings, inks, overprint varnishes (OPV), adhesives and industrial coatings.
What makes Bisphenol A epoxy acrylates special?
High reactivity & fast cure: The acrylate terminals polymerize rapidly under UV/LED or EB exposure, producing near-instant tack-free films and high line speeds for industrial presses and coating lines. This is a core reason they’re favored for inks and OPVs.
Hard, chemically resistant films: Once cured, the backbone derived from bisphenol A epoxy gives coatings good surface hardness, solvent/chemical resistance and abrasion performance—properties expected from traditional epoxy systems but achieved with radiation curing.
Low color / low VOC options: Manufacturers formulate grades with low residual color and low VOC (and some diluted blends for lower viscosity or odor) to suit graphic arts and protective finishes where appearance and regulatory limits matter.
Formulation flexibility: These oligomers are often supplied neat or pre-blended with reactive diluents (e.g., TPGDA, DPGDA) to tune viscosity, film flexibility, cure speed and adhesion to specific substrates. Easmer EA100 Series exist as base oligomer and in blended variants to balance reactivity, color and handling.
Key application fields
Flexo, offset and digital inks — allows high-speed printing with immediate handling and good adhesion to paper, board and many films.
Overprint varnishes (OPV) — provides gloss, chemical resistance and scuff resistance for packaging finishes.
Protective and industrial coatings — maintenance and metal coatings needing hard surfaces and corrosion/chemical resistance.
Adhesives & sealants — fast curing structural or laminating adhesives where UV/EB cure enables rapid handling.
Composites and specialty applications — where epoxy-like mechanical properties plus fast cure are needed (e.g., certain composite prepregs or repair systems).

Closing — where BPA epoxy acrylates fit in the modern formulary
Easmer EA100 Series,Bisphenol A epoxy acrylates remain central to industrial UV/EB formulation because they deliver a rare combination: epoxy-grade hardness and resistance, plus the near-instant, solvent-free benefits of radiation curing. For high-speed printing lines, protective varnishes, and industrial coatings where throughput and final-film performance matter, these oligomers are often the first choice — with the usual caveats on regulatory context for food contact and the need to pick the correct diluted or modified grade for viscosity and flexibility requirements.
